FACEBOOK ENGAGEMENT TIPS

1.) Give value, inspire, and entertain:

When you are sharing your posts make sure they are full of value and knowledge. That means you are helping people solve their problems.

Your Facebook engagement will get better with time because your audience will love how much value you give them. They will start by liking your posts and eventually they’ll start leaving meaningful comments.

Now let’s look at some ideas of value posts:

  • Share top 3 tips about a specific topic in your niche that most of your audience struggles with
  • Create a video (live or recorded) about how to do something in your industry
  • Share a step-by-step guide
  • Create a fun & easy challenge
  • Share a “How To” blog post, video or Social Media post
  • Make a fun infographic

You can also inspire and entertain them with your own stories. Probably you already heard that facts tell but stories sell. Don’t be afraid to share your true story because you never know who you can help.

It’s also important to entertain your audience. You can do that by creating poll questions. Those are always fun and easy to uses. They are also good for getting to know more about your followers.

2.) Post at the right time:

If you want to have more Facebook engagement you will have to post at the right time. That means you will have to post when most of your audience is online.

If you’re using your personal Facebook profile for promoting business, then you know there is no analytics tool. So here is a short video with a POWERFUL HACK that will help you figure out when most people are on Facebook:

In your Facebook group or page, you will have an analytics tool. I recommend checking it every week when you’re scheduling your posts.

WHERE TO FIND THE ANALYTICS TOOL:

When you’re in the Facebook group, check out the left side. Click on the “Group Insights” button, and find the “More Engagement Details” option.

On your Facebook page, you will find the analytics under insights (at the top). Click on it and then look on the left side where you will see the button “Posts”. Click again and there is your analytics tool.

3.) Laser target your audience:

If you don’t know who your target audience is, you will waste a lot of your precious time selling to the wrong people. I’m sure you value your time, so keep reading.

You can’t sell your products or services to people that are not interested in them. And you also can’t sell to people who don’t like and trust you.

That’s why it’s really important to know your target audience, then get to know them even better and build a meaningful relationship.

In my video below you will learn all about how to figure out who your target audience is and where to find them. The video is a bit long, however, it’s full of valuable information, so check it out.

4.) Short posts are better for Facebook engagement:

It’s called FaceBOOK, but let’s be honest, people don’t want to read long posts. We are living in a busy world so no one has time to read a “novel” on your profile.

If you want to share more information then make a Facebook live video. But focus on making short posts because they get more Facebook engagement.

Sometimes a short post is more powerful than a long one. You will still brand yourself and your business. As long as you stay consistent your Facebook engagement will increase.

After you gain more followers and you become a known expert in your field, that’s when you can start writing longer posts. In the meantime, you can use some of these 57 Facebook Post Ideas To Increase Engagement.

5.) Share quality content:

Are you sharing a lot of quotes? If your answer is yes then I have some bad news for you. Quotes won’t make you money.

It’s okay to share quotes here and there, but it’s more important to share your stories and value. That way your followers will get to know who you are and what you stand for. So be careful how many times you share quotes.

What can you share beside quotes? Here are some great ideas that will help you build your brand and Facebook engagement:

  • Talk about your story,
  • Share your experience and knowledge,
  • Post about your life (lifestyle),
  • Share quick tips
  • Post your selfies (extra boost for your engagement)

6.) Use great (quality) images:

Have you ever seen someone who used low-resolution images? Did they have a lot of Facebook engagement on their posts? Probably not.

If you want to attract people to your posts use quality and interesting images. That doesn’t mean you have to get professional pictures. Here’s an example of a bad and good quality photo:

Do you want to make great pictures with your smartphone? Follow the steps below:

– Make sure you have good lighting
–  If you are taking a picture of yourself (selfie) – SMILE baby, smile! 🙂
–  Use these two apps: Snapspeed & Airbrush

Sometimes can be very hard to create interesting graphics that would attract more followers and engagement. If you are tired of always creating graphics from scratch, then grab these 141 Social Media graphic templates. You will need a free tool called Canva. Here is what you will get:

  • Motivational quotes to inspire your followers
  • Engaging questions for an engagement boost
  • Holidays graphic templates to spice it up
  • Customizable (colors, fonts, elements, images…)

7.) Make Facebook live videos:

This is a no-brainer. Facebook loves it when you use their tools. If you have more information to share then this is a great way to do it. Like we said before; “Ain’t nobody got time for long Facebook posts!” 😉

Facebook will reward you for using their tool and they will share your content with more people. More Facebook Engagement = More people = More free traffic

Also, your audience will connect with you and trust you faster if they see your beautiful face.

8.) Ask questions to fire up your Facebook Engagement:

Usually when you ask a question people respond to it. This is a great way to boost your Facebook engagement and get more eyeballs on your posts.

Besides asking questions in your posts, you can also ask questions while you are answering their comments. Great connections are built this way and usually, most people will respond back.

That can create an on-going conversation which means you will get a boost each time someone comments. Your post will show up at the top of the newsfeed again and more people will see it.

9.) Respond to comments and boost your Facebook engagement:

Like we said above – when you respond to comments, you also boost your post into your audience’s news feed. More people will see it even if you made it a couple of days, months, or even years ago.

When responding to their comments, be fun, ask questions, and entertain them. People are likely to respond back. So the more Facebook engagement you have – the more popular your post or video will be.

10.) Be consistent and don’t give up:

Some leaders don’t post every single day because they already have an established business with a big following. But if you just started growing your business on Facebook or you still don’t have a big audience who trusts you, then post every single day.

post on your Facebook daily

Consistency always pays off. But you also have to know that it’s going to take some time before you see great results. Your audience has to get to know you and trust you (I say that a lot because it’s true).

Like we said before there are no sales without trust (I did it again hehe). By being consistent you will show them that you are not a quitter.

Creating content every single day can be very challenging. It can take up a ton of valuable time. So to ensure you post every day, start using the Social Media content calendar. Problem solved!

I used to waste over 20+ hours on creating monthly content. It’s definitely not fun to sit in front of your laptop, pulling your hair out just to come up with a new post.

11.) Use Facebook Stories:

You can only post 1-3 times per day on your Facebook profile. If you post more, your engagement will go down.

So how should you promote yourself on Facebook profile? I suggest you post only once per day and then use your Facebook Stories to post everything else that you want to share with your Facebook friends.

You can promote your business just make sure it is not spammy. Share your lifestyle, and you can also make videos with short tips.

12.) Be active in groups and pages:

When your name pops up in groups and pages consistently, more people will start noticing you – especially if you help them.

This way they will start adding you, your Facebook friends list will grow faster, and they will see you as someone who can help them solve their problems.

It will take time to build that trust but this is the way to show yourself as an expert in your niche.

And remember; when your list grows, so will your Facebook engagement.

13.) Use CTA ( call to action):

When you tell people what to do next they are more likely to do what you tell them. Here are some examples you can start using today:

CTA (post) examples:
– Let me know your thoughts⬇
– Let’s c.o.n.n.e.c.t 📩
– 👍❤ this post

CTA (video) examples:
– Show me some love on this video
– Share your thoughts and comments below
– If you agree with me comment YES below
– Send me a message / inbox me

In the next point, I will explain why there is such a difference between CTA in a post or in a video so keep reading.

14.) Avoid Facebook engagement bait:

If you are asking for likes, comments and shares then STOP it right away! This is hurting your engagement.

Facebook (or any other platform) doesn’t like it if you ask for engagement because that’s how you boost your posts into more people’s newsfeed.

You might wonder what’s wrong with that? Well, nothing for you, but everything for Facebook. They want you to invest money in ads so they grow their income.

I made this video where you’ll learn what engagement bait you should avoid at all costs. It’s worth watching it:

15.) Test, test, test:

When you learn something new always test it out. We are all in different niches and we have different products. Figure out what works best for your followers, niche, and brand.

Another important thing is to test for a longer period of time. Every strategy you try out might need some time. So never test it out for just one week.

Also, don’t test too many strategies at once. You won’t know what worked and what didn’t.
