Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset:

Let’s first look into these two mindsets. It’s essential to know the difference because you will determine which one do you have.

But don’t worry, you CAN change it and get a mindset of an entrepreneur. Now let’s see the difference between fixed and growth mindset.

What Is Fixed Mindset:

This is the most common mindset, but it is also very harmful. People with a fixed mindset think they need to be extraordinary to succeed. Here’s an excellent example of what they usually say: “I’m just not good or talented enough to succeed in business.”

We both know that’s not true. You can LEARN all the different strategies and hacks to succeed in business. So do you really need talent? No, absolutely not.

Here’s a great quote – a reminder that talent is NOT needed:

What Is Growth Mindset:

People with a growth mindset think differently. They know it’s possible to learn your way to success. They also understand action and patience is required.

That’s why they put all their energy & effort into learning and taking action. People with a growth mindset are also not afraid of failing. Failure is just another form of education.

That was one of the hardest parts for me. The thought of making mistakes terrified me. Now I see them as badges of honor.

Characteristics Of An Entrepreneurial Mindset:

This list below will help you see what characteristics you should get. With consistent effort, you will evolve into a great entrepreneur with these qualities:

  • Positive thinking
  • Passion
  • Vision
  • Self-motivation
  • Determination
  • Focus
  • Curiosity
  • Creativity
  • Adaptability

How To Develop a Mindset Of An Entrepreneu

1.) Goals & Vision:

First, let’s look at the difference between goals and vision.

Goals are specific steps you take to achieve your vision. That’s why you have to create a simple plan of action that you can pursue daily.

For business, you will create a business plan to help you get clear on your next move. I’m going to share more details about the business plan under point #9 in this post.

Vision is how you see your life and business in the future. It’s basically your imagination. So before you can write down your goals, you have to have a clear vision of what you want.

Entrepreneurs have an expansive vision, and you should have it too. Don’t be afraid to think big. Even if your mind is saying you will never achieve it.

That’s why you have to work on your mindset to quiet that annoying and damaging voice in your head.

So to sum it up, you need a clear, big vision first. Write it down and break it into small manageable goals. Then all you have to do is take massive action. This will immensely help you to get a mindset of an entrepreneur.

2.) Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable:

Entrepreneurs take more risks in life. It’s because they know staying in their comfort zone won’t help them reach their goals. So they got used to being comfortable in uncomfortable situations.

You will learn to do the same. Practice getting out of your comfort zone daily. Think about something that you genuinely don’t want to do. Then do it despite what that little voice in your head says.

Don’t overthink, and definitely don’t talk yourself out of it. Take baby steps and do something today that will help you get closer to your goal.

Yes, you will be nervous and even terrified. However, after you will feel more confident and happy. Day by day, your confidence will soar, and you will be closer to accomplishing your vast goals.

3.) Work On Your Mindset Daily:

There is a reason why successful entrepreneurs read personal development books every single day. These books will teach you how to stay positive in adverse situations.

So yes, to get a mindset of an entrepreneur, you will have to read these books daily. There are substantial positive sides to it.

You will get the motivation to create the life that you desire so much. And you will also be reminded to stay patient and calm.

Your subconscious mind (mindset) will dictate if you will succeed or fail in business. And that depends on how many big mental blocks you have around business and money. So the only way to grow and achieve your goals is to get rid of those blocks.

This part was the hardest for me. I struggled for many years before I discovered what was stopping me. Then I had to work through the obstacles that I made up in my mind.

And to be completely honest with you, it’s challenging to get rid of your blocks. Especially if you don’t know-how.

I was lucky to discover the eBook called “Become the CEO of Your Dream Life.” Because I always needed extra help with mindset and manifestation, I grabbed the Pro Bundle, which changed my life.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to get rid of your mental blocks and learn to get an entrepreneurial mindset.

4.) You Should Think Outside The Box To Get a Mindset Of An Entrepreneur:

I often hear people say, “Entrepreneurs are so unique” or, “They think differently.” It’s because of the way they think.

What makes entrepreneurs stand out from the rest is they believe anything is possible. And when they face an obstacle, they don’t give up. Instead of saying: “I can’t do this,” they ask themselves: “What can I do to overcome the obstacle?”

They think outside the box.

Here’s a vital tip that changed everything for me. If a person who’s telling you what to do hasn’t achieved the goals you want to achieve, don’t listen to them!

You Should Think Outside The Box and Never Don't Listen To naysayers To Get a Mindset Of An Entrepreneur

You wouldn’t listen to someone who didn’t build a successful business before, right? And I know it’s hard when your own family is telling you what to do.

They only want to protect you. Acknowledge that, but do what makes your heart happy. That’s the only way you will attain your goals.

5.) Take Massive Action:

This is where most beginner entrepreneurs fail. And if I’m honest with you, I was one of them. Most of the time, we think we are taking action. But we are just busy doing things that are not as important for growing our business.

When you get a mindset of an entrepreneur, that will all change. So let’s look at what you will have to do.

First, you need to learn which action steps are the most important for increasing revenue. Then you need to prioritize all those steps. We are going to talk more about prioritizing in the next point.

Then you should commit to all the tasks you will do daily, weekly, and monthly. Commitment is fundamental to your success.

You will get exhausted at some point. But don’t quit! Learn how to step back and rest for a day or two. Clear your head and get your energy back. Then it’s time to take more action.

6.) You Should Be Prioritizing:

This is one of the biggest challenges many beginner entrepreneurs have. Because they don’t prioritize the right money-making tasks first, they don’t see satisfactory results.

It’s not because they don’t want to succeed, it’s because of the subconscious mind. We talked about mindset blocks, and this is where things can go horribly wrong.

Those mindset blocks lead you to do tasks that make you busy but not productive. They take you far away from the mindset of an entrepreneur.

You first start with the easy duties, and in the end, you waste hours focusing on the wrong things that won’t increase your revenue.

You’re running a business, and you want to make some income. However, until you keep doing the unnecessary things, you won’t see an increase in revenue.

Don’t Focus On Perfection, Focus On Providing Value!

Here’s an example of what most beginner entrepreneurs think they need to do first. They are laser-focused on creating beautiful graphics and perfect content.

But let me tell you something. There is no such thing as PERFECT, and you shouldn’t focus on creating beautiful graphics. That is NOT the most important thing.

Creating VALUABLE content (not perfect content) is what you should concentrate on. Also, your graphics don’t need to look professional. As long as you teach your followers something essential and helpful, they will love you for that.

Don’t let your subconscious mind dictate how you will live your life. When you know something is more urgent, don’t start working on something irrelevant. Take your life in your hands!

Another example of a bad prioritizing strategy is when you want to invest in a course that will help you grow your business. But instead, you spend your money on things like clothes, shoes, bags, etc. (even though you don’t need them).

Then you say: “I don’t have the money.” Dang, why does this sound so familiar? Oh, because I have been there before. So trust me when I tell you that this will NOT get you to your goals.

Running a business is not free nor cheap. And the sooner you accept that, the better. Each month put some money on the side and invest it in things that will help you out.

7.) Focus On The Outcome:

This was one of the best lessons that I learned. I usually focused on negative experiences. That’s why I attracted even more negative events and people.

Attracting negative events and people because of the poor mindset of an entrepreneur

I’m sure you don’t want to repeat my mistake. So when something doesn’t go according to plans, focus on the outcome you want to accomplish.

Not only will that give you motivation, but it will also help you attract positive occurrences. Ernest Holmes said: “Where the mind goes, energy flows.” Remember that next time you’re in an unpleasant situation.

8.) To Get a Mindset Of Entrepreneur, You Shouldn’t Make Excuses:

We grew up listening to people who always made excuses. So no wonder we are doing the same. Despite what you learned as a child, you will have to catch yourself when you make excuses.

That means you will have to be conscious of your words all the time. That is exhausting yet necessary. Excuses will only hold you back in life. It’s because our subconscious mind is always searching for a way to avoid risks.

But you know taking risks in business is required if you want to succeed. So how can you actually stop making excuses? I’ll share with you one of the most powerful strategies that helped me.

First, I started being more conscious. I reminded myself to listen to my thoughts carefully. I didn’t judge myself, and I didn’t try to correct my thoughts. All I did was write down what I was thinking about.

It can be a bit time-consuming, but that really helps you see what mindset blocks you have. That’s why writing everything down is crucial.

When I saw what was blocking me, I started writing an upbeat version of those negative thoughts. Then I read them out loud every day. I even visualized a positive outcome.

It’s essential to do this DAILY because you have to reprogram your subconscious mind. That’s the only way you will see excellent results in business or any other area of your life.

So if you’re a pen and paper girl like me, then get yourself a journal or notebook and start writing all of your excuses down. You can also write them down on your phone if you prefer technology.

Then rewrite them on a positive note and read them out loud every day until you truly believe them.

9.) Create a Business Plan:

For the longest time, I didn’t believe entrepreneurs need a business plan. I thought we only need to learn some useful strategies and consistently use them.

You can imagine how that went for me. I tried to wing it and only wasted my time. But I know you respect your time and don’t want to make the same mistake.

That’s why you should create your own business plan. It will help you identify your business and audience. You will also be more focused on your next step. But of course, you will need to come back to it from time to time. Just to refresh your memory.

I found many business plans online, but they were too complicated or just too vague. That only confused me, which didn’t help at all. So I decided to create my own.

If you’re unsure how to design a robust business plan, you can grab mine here. I created it specifically for female entrepreneurs who are building their businesses online.

10.) Providing Value Will Have An Impact On Your Mindset Of An Entrepreneur:

When you’re educating others about subjects in your niche, you also build upon your knowledge. And that helps you increase your self-confidence, which is very important if you want to get a mindset of an entrepreneur.

Think about the last time you were boldly talking about a specific topic. You know plenty about it, so your confidence level is high. How did that influence your mindset?

Were you afraid of sharing the knowledge, worried about what people would say? Or was your self-esteem soaring more and more?

I’m sure you felt good about yourself and convinced you are doing a great job. And you were right! That’s why it’s vital to build on your knowledge and share it with others.

You know all successful entrepreneurs are confident, and knowledge is one of the reasons why. Take 30-60 minutes every day and learn. Read blog posts, watch Youtube videos, and invest in books, ebooks, courses, etc. You will see a significant difference in just a couple of months.

11.) Connect With Positive Entrepreneurs:

It’s true when they say: “If you’re hanging out with 5 negative people, you will be the 6th one.” Choose your friends carefully.

Many entrepreneurs will tell you to leave your naysaying friends and family behind. I do agree with this to a certain degree. But before you do that, try to talk with them. Explain what you’re trying to achieve and why you would love their support.

Of course, it’s their choice if they will encourage you on your journey or not. However, do what’s best for you. It’s your life, after all.

It won’t be easy, but definitely worth it! That’s why you should also start connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs.

12.) Take Responsibility:

For the longest time, I have been blaming everyone else but me. When I didn’t make a sale, I blamed it on my mentor for not helping me all the time. If I didn’t get enough email subscribers, I blamed them for not wanting free value.

This couldn’t be further from the truth. It was all my fault. I should have learned how to sell and make valuable freebies that my audience was searching for.

You see, when you take responsibility for your life, you start doing the right things.

You will start searching for resources instead of expecting others to help you. Remember, only YOU can save yourself.

13.) Gratitude Will Help You Shift To a Mindset Of An Entrepreneur:

I can’t express how much gratitude helped me. Every day I write for what I’m thankful for. That’s how I start my day with a positive vibe. And it feels great!

So commit to writing at least 5-10 things in your notebook that you are grateful for. You should also journal about your goals, how you will feel when you achieve them, or just write about all the good things that happened to you that day.

I created this gratitude journal prompts to serve you when you don’t know what to scribble about. These prompts will help you manifest your business goals much faster.

Summing-up: Getting a Mindset Of An Entrepreneur

It’s not easy to get an entrepreneurial mindset. It takes a lot of consistent action, sacrifice, and determination. So it’s safe to say that successful entrepreneurs do things differently. The best way to become one of them is to mimic what they do.

I would lie if I said it’s going to be easy. Sometimes you will feel like quitting. But remember what’s at stake (your goals). On days like that, you should take a deep breath and relax.

Take it one day at a time and repeat the steps we talked about in this blog post. This is a journey so learn to enjoy it.

Thinking like an entrepreneur is a foolproof way to success. Actually, having a growth mindset is 80% of your progress. So in my humble opinion, it is worth working on it every single day.
