Learn How I Promote My Blog For Free
Have you ever asked yourself how to increase blog traffic for free? You probably did, that’s why you’re reading this 🙂 And you are in the right place. I’ll tell you the whole story of how I increase blog traffic for free.
If you have a blog but almost no traffic on it, except occasional visits from your family members that support you, I know how you feel. I was in the same place.
The only person on my blog was me and my brother and a couple of Google crawl bots. It was sad to see no traffic on my pages.
That didn’t only mean I had no traffic, but it also meant no income. Isn’t it ironic – the name of my blog is Big Income Paradise but I had no income from it at the time. Well, that changed when I implemented a couple of strategies.
Before we jump to all the tips and tricks, I would like to invite you to our FREE Coaching Group for all entrepreneurs, marketers, and bloggers that want to learn more about Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing, Blogging and even how to get increase blog traffic for free. 1.) How to increase blog traffic for Free with Pinterest:
Did you hear from other bloggers that Pinterest is your best solution to increase blog traffic? It’s true, they didn’t lie 🙂 You can do it for free or choose to invest in Pinterest ads, which are cheaper than any other ads. Plus this will help you get traffic faster.
You have to understand that free traffic is slower but still better than no traffic, right? 😉 So what can you do to increase your traffic?
Get your FREE Pinterest Checklist that will help you get more traffic and sales and also it will get you more organized and help you save time.
STEP #1
The first thing is to have a business Pinterest account filled with information about what you do and how you will help your audience. The description has to include keywords you want to be found for.
STEP #2
Create your boards and pins that have keywords in titles and descriptions. You have a higher chance to get in front of your targeted audience if you include keywords. Without them, you won’t see great results.
I won’t go on and on about Pinterest marketing here. I made a blog post explaining how to use Pinterest for Business to 10X your results. You can read more by clicking here and learn how to set up your profile for success.
Also, check this blog post about How I Got 41K Monthly Viewers In 25 Days on Pinterest. I explain what I did to get there. Check it out here and learn how you can get the same or better results.
STEP #3
I bet you are really busy and you don’t have all day to spend in front of a computer and doing all the Pinterest work. Even if you have a lot of time, you probably want to spend it with your family and friends.
I totally get you because I’m the same. So is there a solution to this problem? Yes, there is a great solution! It’s called Tailwind.
It’s a simple online tool that will help you schedule your pins and post them when you want. That means you will be able to spend time with your family and the tools will work for you. Isn’t that the best? 😉
Besides the scheduling tool for Pinterest, they included another one for Instagram. So it’s a win-win situation with this tool. You can test Tailwind for free through my link HERE, but just know if you upgrade I will make a small commission at no extra cost to you.
STEP #4
Tailwind Tribes are another great way to increase blog traffic. In Tribes, there are other bloggers who share their pins but also they will re-share other people’s pins (they’ll share yours too). That’s why I love Pinterest and Tailwind Tribes because we are sharing and helping each other.
Here is an example when I shared a pin into one of the Tribes:
It’s definitely going to help you grow your blog traffic over time. Don’t expect to get a million views on your blog overnight. All the good things take time 😉
2.) How to increase blog traffic for Free with Facebook Groups:
There are groups on Facebook that have threads where you can share your pins and links to your blog. Other people will share it, but you will have to return the favor.
Make sure you re-share pins and blogs that your audience would be interested in. Don’t share stuff that is not related to your business. So just to give you an example – don’t share weight loss blog posts if your business is all about how to make money online.
You can also share your blog posts in those groups that allow you to do so. Make sure to read and follow their rules or they will block you. You can easily find the Facebook groups by clicking in the search box and type in your niche.
You don’t need to share links to your blog all the time. What works even better is when you consistently (every day) post in those groups and share value. That way you will brand yourself which is the best strategy that you can have.
First brand yourself because you will build a loyal following of raving fans and hungry buyers. It’s going to take some time, but if you dedicate yourself to consistently posting value in those groups for let’s say a year, you will see huge results.
“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.”
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
3.) How to increase blog traffic with Youtube:
I’ll be completely honest with you. Youtube is not my main source of traffic, however, I did get people to my blog from Youtube too. Not many but it’s still better than nothing. I advise you to start making videos and put links to your blog in the description. When your Youtube channel gets bigger, you will get more traffic from it.
Your viewers will also trust you faster because they will see and hear you on the video. Let’s face it, we trust people more if they show their faces.
Besides that, you can include videos on your blog and grow your Youtube channel too. Plus you will attract more people because some love to watch videos more than they love to read. That’s a win-win situation 🙂
If you’re one of those people who loves watching videos, then I invite you to subscribe to my Youtube channel here.
4.) Start using Instagram and Facebook stories:
Stories are really popular and many people check them out (YAAAY, more Traffic 😉 ). So that’s why it’s a great place to promote yourself and your blog. You can do a quick video or post sharing some value and at the end you let people know about your blog post where they can learn even more.
[REALLY IMPORTANT]: Make sure you include a call to action (CTA) at the end of the video or post. Something like:
“If you want to learn more, reach out to me and I’ll send you
my blog post. It’s completely free 😉 ”
5.) Use more than one social media platform:
Many bloggers and entrepreneurs make the mistake of being on only one social media platform where they share their blogs. It’s true that you need to learn and master one platform at a time, but what if something happens to your profile there?
What if you get blocked? Or someone hacks your profile? Then what? You need to be in more places and also include email marketing. I know that’s not a social media platform but we will get to email marketing later.
REAL EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE LOSING THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES:
I’ll give you a great example from my Facebook friend. He posted a funny image on FB and soon after that, he ended up in Facebook jail for 30 DAYS! He couldn’t post, respond to comments or even send messages. But he wasn’t worried because he has a HUGE email list. Did it affect his income? Not at all 😉
There is also another friend of mine who lost her whole Facebook fan page. She didn’t do anything wrong and when she contacted Facebook, they didn’t respond back. Her fan page was really big – I’m talking about over 100,000 fans! But because she’s using a Facebook profile, Instagram, and also email marketing – her income didn’t decrease much.
I hope you see how important it is to be on multiple social media platforms where you can share your blog posts. Include your blog link in the “about me” section and in tell people to click on it.
6.) Use Email Marketing to increase blog traffic for free:
There are email marketing providers that offer their services for Free. Just know that you will have some limits. One great example is MailChimp where you can get up to 2,000 email subscribers. Yes, for free. Just make sure that you upgrade to a paid plan before you hit 2,000 subscribers.
Another great email marketing provider is MailerLite. I use it and recommend it to everyone because it’s really amazing. You can use it for FREE for up to 1,000 subscribers – how cool is that?! 🙂
You are not here to learn more about email providers, but how to increase traffic to your blog. So if you have a blog, you probably already have an email provider included. If not, include it right away because you’re losing people which means you losing sales!
Usually, most people come to your blog once and then they forget it exists. So to get them on your blog, again and again, you should offer them freebies, but to get them they have to give you their name and email address.
That way they will sign up on your email list where you will send them emails (well duh! 😉 ). In those emails, you will tell them about new blog posts or even old ones (reuse your old content) and they will come to your blog multiple times.
CONCLUSION:
There is more than one way to increase blog traffic for free. But we have to know it takes time. We have to be consistent with all our marketing strategies or we won’t build our brand and our business up.
If you follow all the tips above, you will actually build traffic to your blog way faster. The more work you put it, the more you will get out.
Now it’s your time. Take action right away and implement all the strategies and tips you learned above.
