First, go to Pinterest.com and find the ‘Sign up’ button. Scroll down a bit and you’ll see an option – ‘Create a business account’.
You’ll insert a bit of info about your business. Don’t worry about this part too much because you’re going to change your information later, so you’ll optimize your Pinterest the right way.
They’ll also ask if you’re interested in running ads. You can use them or not, that’s totally up to you. I don’t use them because unfortunately, they are not available globally.
At this point, you’ll have a new Pinterest Business account. But what if you’ve been pinning your heart out on a personal account and don’t want to lose all that hard work? Read the next part below.
How to Convert Your Personal Account
You can simply convert your personal account to a business one. By doing this you don’t lose your pins and followers. Plus, you can always switch back to your personal account if you wish.
Once you have logged into your personal Pinterest account, look towards the top-right corner. There you’ll see an icon that looks like a downward arrow – click on that.
Next, click ‘Settings’ from the menu. Then, on the left side of your screen, you’ll see ‘Account management’. Click on that, and you should find the option to ‘Convert to a business account’.
You’re almost there! Now, tell Pinterest a little about your business by filling out the ‘Build your profile’ and ‘Describe your business’ sections.

Now, try to find many different keywords and make sure you save them. Just keep a simple notepad or a Word document to jot them down. You’ll soon need them to optimize your profile.
3.) Optimize Your Pinterest Profile
Now that you have a list of keywords, it’s time to put them in your profile. This step is essential if you want to get your pins seen.

- Alternatively, you can upload an HTML file. Pinterest will provide you with an HTML file that you upload to your website’s server. Once this is done, Pinterest can verify your website.
- And finally, the DNS TXT record method. This involves adding text information to your website that acts as instructions for how the server should respond to a request. By adding a TXT record to your DNS, Pinterest can confirm your website ownership.

Now, once you find these perfect keywords that match your pin content, where should you put them? Well, in your pin title and description. But remember to write meaningful sentences, that naturally incorporate these keywords.
